About The Firm

Ruskinesq LLC is a boutique law practice founded by Rachel Ruskin to help companies identify and resolve legal issues and protect themselves with contracts.

Rachel uses her extensive in-house media experience in both marketing law and production to help her clients navigate a broad range of legal issues arising in connection with branding, marketing, sponsorships, promotions, product placements and the creation, monetization and exploitation of content, including TV/film, publishing, websites and social media. Such issues may include contractual rights, copyright, trademark, privacy, right of publicity, FTC-required disclosures, use of social media and contests/sweepstakes.

Rachel is known for practical advice. She particularly enjoys working with small and medium-sized companies in advisory and transactional matters and providing overflow and interim support to legal departments of large companies.

Bio

Prior to starting her private law practice, Rachel was in-house counsel to Time Warner’s Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. for 16 years, where she led the Marketing & Promotions legal team for Turner’s domestic live action entertainment networks - TBS, TNT, TCM and truTV. In her first several years at Turner, she handled licensing of programs for exhibition on all Turner domestic entertainment and animation networks.

Before joining Turner, Rachel was an associate at the Silicon Valley law firm, Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, where she handled transactions related to the development, production and licensing of content and technology.

Rachel is a graduate of the Columbia University School of Law, where she was a Stone Scholar, an articles editor of the Columbia/VLA Journal of Law & the Arts and a teaching assistant in the Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts Clinic.
